one of the assignments in my book design class was to use an accordion
binding for an autobiographical project. i decided to use song lyrics and
created an alphabet set out of linoleum and glued them onto blocks to
print them, letter by letter. (there are 158 letters total.) the
color of the letters starts out primarily black with a few blue letters, then
gradually changes to blue at the other end. the song lyrics read across
all six panels, so when you page through the book normally, it looks like
gibberish.
the cover is a reed-imprinted handmade paper that i got from the cornell
university bookstore.
