a converted hymnal

i made this for a dutch boy in design school who wanted something unique.
the old german hymnal with leather cover and slipcover i found at a secondhand store for one euro. i gutted it, but kept some of the pages to rebind with lined paper. (he wanted it to seem like a secret journal, so when you open it and look at the first or last few pages, it's the original pages, but in the middle it's lined paper. the old and new signatures were sewn together with a kind of coptic stitch.
