mishy journal

i got commissioned to do this journal by a guy in australia who wanted to give his girlfriend in california a really unique college graduation present. i worked with him to figure out what kind of style we were going for, which ended up being modern, not flowery.
the letters on the front and back covers spell out two lines from a song by Neil Finn. i printed them with the same set of linoleum letters that i used for my autobiography. the picture on the first page is a linocut i made from a picture of them. (note - i love doing custom block prints for commissioned items.)
the book itself is a combination of a traditional hardback book binding and a spineless hardback binding that kind of i developed. the signatures were sewn to a piece of paper, which i then glued to the cover. i made the initial mistake of also gluing the spine, but it turned out fine.
